If you haven’t come across Dr Michael Greger and his videos on health and nutrition – you should check out his website Nutritionfacts http://nutritionfacts.org/.

He creates a new short video, 5 days a week – Monday through Friday. These are generally less than 5 minutes long- with a few longer ones (up to 10 minutes) as “reviews.” His goal is to present the results of the latest offerings in peer-reviewed nutrition and health research, delivered in a way that is interesting and easy to understand.

Often we don’t see the nutrition research – or if we do see it, the media reports it in a confusing and conflicting way. But Dr Greger has a friendly, jovial way with his videos. He simplifies the study findings with nice graphics so we all can get the take home message of what the scientists found.

He has some new style of videos right now – entitled “How not to…” These take the form of overview videos, such as “How not to die of cancer.” They are based on his New York Times best seller book “How not to die.” Maybe we’ll review this book in the future.

Just like you can subscribe to our blog (see the sidebar and enter your email address), you can also subscribe to Dr Greger’s blog. His email comes weekly and includes all the links to that weeek’s videos. It’s a great way to spend a few minutes of your day – you’ll not only learn something, but most often you will be amused by him too!

Here are some examples of what you can find on his site:

What is the healthiest beverage?

What is the No.1 anti-cancer vegetable?

Increased lifespan from beans

Flaxseeds for hypertension

Can gargling prevent the common cold?

Enough from me today – head over and spend some time with Dr Greger instead. Let me know what you think.
